What's the Why Behind the Buy?

We all think that we sell great products or services and we tend to assume that prospects and customers see that too and will go on to buy from us.

But have you ever stopped to ask yourself: What's the why behind the buy here?

This breaks down into two important questions:

1) Why would anyone buy this?
You want to figure out what's the compelling reason(s) why anyone would take action to shell out the $$$ to buy whatever it is you offer.

2) Why should they buy from me?
What you really want to figure out is this: why should someone buy whatever it is you sell from you or your business when they could get something similar (in their eyes) someplace else?

Take a moment to think about these two questions right now.

What did you come up with?

Now call up 3-5 of your best customers/clients and ask them:
1) Why did they buy this product/service you offered?
2) Why did they choose to buy this from you when they presumably had other options available?

The answers you get from your buyer's mouths may be very different compared to what you came up with, and you should treat it like gold. Why? Because buyers think like other buyers, not like sellers (of your product).

The insights you get from this exercise will help you level up your marketing and sales messaging to attract more right-fit clients.

Try it out and let me know what results you get from this!

Maximizing Your Mental Performance

Harness the Power of Your Brain's Master Switch to Boost Your Thinking

Did you know that there’s a small region in your brain that acts as a "master switch," controlling how you think and process information?

It’s called the locus coeruleus, and it's responsible for switching between focused thinking and creative problem-solving.

Optimizing how this region functions can help you enhance productivity and creativity, which is essential in today's fast-paced, knowledge-driven world.

How can you take control of this brain region?

Mindful Focus: Incorporate short, mindful breaks to shift your brain into a more creative state.

Novelty: Engage with new and challenging experiences to stimulate brain plasticity.

Sleep: Ensure you're well-rested, as sleep is critical for your brain’s recovery and optimal performance. Unlocking your brain's full potential starts with understanding how to control its natural mechanisms!

There is a really neat article about this in the New Scientist which talks about the locus coeruleus as a gearbox with 3 gears, each representing a different more. It's an interesting read and you can find it here.

BTW, speaking of optimizing brain performance, I'm working on a project to help people improve their mental performance by unlocking the mysteries of how our brains work, and how to keep our brains healthy and effective so we can keep performing at high levels for as long as possible.
